Welcome to the Augusta County Democratic Committee

Deeds, Wagner, Shannon – Virginia’s Ticket to the Future

WINNERCreigh Deeds won the gubernatorial primary and will lead a united party and a strong Democratic ticket into the November election. Deeds, who represented western Augusta while in the House of Delegates, won 50% of the votes in a hotly contested three-way race. Across the state, Creigh did well in all regions, signaling a robust grassroots base to help carry is message to all Virginians. In Augusta County, where he is well known, Creigh carried every precinct and garnered 79% of the vote.

Joining Creigh on the ticket are Jody Wagner for Lt. Governor and Steve Shannon for Attorney General.

This year all 100 seats in the House of Delegates will be elected. Augusta County includes parts of three districts – the 20th, the 24th, and the 25th. With the primary concluded, we have great candidates in each district – Erik Curren (20th), Jeff Price (24th), and Greg Marrow (25th). Please click the “2009 Candidates” tab to learn more about the districts and for links to the candidates’ websites.

Change for Change Here is a simple idea with enormous potential to bring needed change to the House of Delegates. Each evening drop your spare change in a jar. After four weeks of collecting pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters pick a House of Delegates candidate – Greg Marrow (25th), Erik Curren (20th), or Jeff Price (24th) and donate that amount (see their websites for info). Or, split it between them. Your donation will be appreciated and help bring the Shenandoah Valley real leadership… for a change.

Please take the time to navigate our website to learn more about our candidates, our committee, and how you can get involved. We can definitely use all the good help that we can get! If you have any questions, please get in touch with our chair, Tom Long, at twlong@northriver.coop.
